DECEMBER 6, 2011 — FORTY-NINETH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Board members present were Monson, Clausen, Smith, Boykin, and Tripp. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board. The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed. The meeting was called to order. The Board approved the appointment of Kevin Bell, Asst. County Attorney, County Attorney Dept., effective 12-07-11, $50,347/year. Job vacancy posted: 9-28-11. Entry salary $50,347/year. Copy filed. The Board approved the reclassification of James McCrystal, Deputy Sheriff, County Sheriff Dept., effective 12-16-11, $26.96/hour, 7.8%=$1.96/hour. Per CWA Deputy Sheriff Contract agreement, from Senior Deputy to Master Deputy. Copy filed. The Board approved the Transfer of Kerby Weber, F/T Equipment Operator, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 01-01-12, $19.87/hour. Transfer from Equipment Operator/Weed Commissioner, to F/T Equipment Operator. Copy filed. WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA WHEREAS, Dana Allner is the titleholder of a mobile home assessed as a building on leased land Parcel #874506300901, located in Woodbury County, Iowa and legally described as follows: Parcel #874506300901 Westfork Township Ex E 551.6 Ft On N X 652 Ft On S SE SW 6-87-45 WHEREAS, these taxes are uncollectable or impractical to pursue collection through personal judgment or tax sale WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors sees that good cause exists for the abatement of these taxes and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors hereby abates the taxes owing on the above parcel according to Code of Iowa, 445.16 for the taxes owed and hereby directs the Woodbury County Treasurer to abate these aforementioned taxes from the tax records. SO RESOLVED this 6th day of December , 2011. RESOLUTION # 10,846 WHEREAS Woodbury County, Iowa was the owner under a tax deed of a certain parcel of real estate described as: Lots Ten, Eleven, & Twelve, Block Thirteen, Long View Addition, City of NOW THEREFORE, 1. That a public hearing on the aforesaid proposal shall be held on Motion by Boykin second by Clausen to receive notification of Project Safe Neighborhoods Grants between County Sheriff’s Office and the Governor’s Office of Drug Control. Motion by Smith second by Boykin to dispose of County property by donating it to the Sooland Amateur Radio Club per recommendation of Gary Brown, Emergency Services. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Boykin second by Clausen to approve the contract and bond for Project Number HDP-CO97(115), PCC Overlay of 330th St., also known as County Highway K42. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Clausen second by Smith to set public hearing for improvements to the Hackley Lateral Drainage District for December 20th, 2011 at 10:15 AM. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Boykin second by Tripp to award the bid for FM-CO97(115)—55-97 to Nelson and Rock Contracting Inc. of Onawa, IA for $40,630.00, per recommendation of Mark Nahra, County Engineer. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Clausen second by Boykin to award the bid for Luton Maintenance Building to Wiese Construction for $206,511.00, per recommendation of Mark Nahra, County Engineer. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Smith second by Boykin to receive for signatures a letter of “Commitment To Move Forward” addressed to the Sioux City Council. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Boykin second by Smith to authorize the chairman to sign a contract with RML Architects to make improvements to the Woodbury County Jail. Carried 5-0. copy filed. Annual review of activities and future projects by County Auditor. The Board adjourned the regular meeting until December 13, 2011. |
